WeLoveCushions has the perfect selection for any interior

me_robert_gilmore_starlings_10285021_me21_2Drawing from the stunning artwork of Robert Gillmor, WeLoveCushions has enhanced their online collection to feature some inspiring designs from one of the UK’s much-loved wildlife artists.

The collection has a breathtakingly beautiful range of fauna and countryside all illustrated by the artist, and interior decorators are flocking to purchase their own piece of Gillmor design from WeLoveCushions, letting the outside in and adding some much needed colour to the home on rainy days.

Robert Gillmor has illustrated over 100 books since 1958 and was a founder member of the  Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) in 1964. Following a move to North Norfolk in 1998, he resumed linocut printmaking.  A keen ornithologist, he has served on council for all three of the national organisations: RSPB, British Ornithologists’ Union and the British Trust for Ornithology. Since 1985, he has illustrated all of the highly characteristic dust jackets for the Collins New Naturalist series and since 2011 has created linocut prints for post-and-go stamps for the Royal Mail.

Screen Shot 2017-10-10 at 07.23.23Red Breasted Geese, Woodpeckers, Hares, Little Owls, Winter Herons, Snow Buntings and Hooper Swans are amongst the twenty-three options available, with all of the designs being printed on cotton linen and supplied with their own cushion pad.

Gillmor’s work is not the only archive available at WeLoveCushions. They have over 3000 designs to choose from, including artwork from internationally renowned institutions such as the National Gallery, TATE, The British Library and The National Portrait Gallery making their offer both distinctive and unsurpassed in quality. Plus with all of the company’s cushions being made in London they therefore, quite rightly, carry the authenticity of being handmade in the UK.

One of our favourites, the Banksy inspired ‘Balloon Girl’ works beautifully with its pastel grey back drop and timeless stencil silhouette of the little girl, with the striking contrast of the red heart balloon providing an additional focus. It’s easy to understand why a recent 2017 poll, conducted by Samsung, ranked ‘Balloon Girl’ as the United Kingdom’s number one favourite artwork.
