A large queue of excited shoppers waited eagerly early Tuesday morning to get a look at Dunelm’s new look store in Oldbury. The first 50 customers into the store were then rewarded for their efforts with an exciting free gift to celebrate the store’s reopening.
The 46,791 sq. ft store was officially reopened, after 9 weeks of closure, by the Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Ahmadul Haque MBE on Tuesday 24th October. Free face painting and a balloon artist kept families entertained throughout the morning whilst customers also had fun marking the occasion by having their photo taken inside the Instagram photo booth frame; providing the perfect opportunity for those all-important selfies.
Dunelm Oldbury store manager, Kayleigh Davenport, said “The opening event was a great success and we really enjoyed welcoming our Oldbury neighbours back into our new look store. We have been counting down the days to reopening and everyone in the team worked really hard to get the store ready for the official reopening day.”
As well as a new easy-to-shop layout the refurbished store now has an impressive new 7,000 sq ft Kiddicare department. Now part of the Dunelm family, Kiddicare have been helping parents from pregnancy through to the first day of school since 1974. Selling 1000s of products from trusted brands like Maxi-Cosi, Maclaren, Tommee Tippee and Joie, the new department will showcase some of the best products Kiddicare has to offer.
The new Kiddicare department will offer customers trusted and expert advice from the store’s specialist team, as well as a free car seat fitting service. The in store Pausa café has also had a child friendly update which includes a soft play area and feeding station.
To celebrate the newly opened department, a competition ran throughout the day in which customers had to guess the price of a variety of products that are sold in store. Every customer who entered the competition won a goody bag filled with exciting Kiddicare gifts and were also entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a star prize.
