We were bowled over with our first night’s evening meal at Steak and Lobster, one of the hotel’s epic restaurants. Under the watchful eye of masterful Bhavesh Kochhar, the restaurant’s manager, the restaurant also serves one of the finest breakfasts in the country, and deliver an impressive number of covers each day.
To begin our meal, Bhavesh spent time taking down a few special dietary requirements and then came back to relay his conversation with chef, and explained that everything had been catered for in terms of allergy.
Bhavesh has outstanding attention to detail, and was excellent with the children. To start, a warm bowl of lobster salad was brought to the table with fiery rocket and a mouth watering dressing. The lobster was soft and tender and melted in the mouth. The portions were generous and reasonably priced.
Following this, they made a special vegetarian philly-cheese steak with a brioche bun. My partner was in food heaven and remarked on the delicious textures of the soya mince. I was presented with steak-two-ways. A gorgeous fillet, with perfect marbling and cooked medium-rare, followed by a 14oz, prime cut sirloin, done medium. At steak and lobster, the fries are on tap, but the portion sizes leave nothing to be desired.
The next morning at breakfast, warm toasted croissants, full cooked English breakfast, eggs by order – just how you like them, fresh pots of coffee, natural teas, an array of fruit juices, and bowls of fruit and cereal adorn the open top buffet style tables and set you up exquisitely for the day ahead.
Inside the rooms, there is a warm classic ambiance with traditional mahogany furniture, rich English fabrics, crisp cotton bed linen and Vi-Spring mattresses. Bathrooms are clad in Sicilian carrara marble with Jacob Delafon bathware. Our room had two Samsung Smart TVs.
As I walked down to the Pegasus Spa on Saturday morning, I was impressed by the Newbury Suite, which brought the outdoors in with its amazing water feature and tropical greenery throughout the conservatory style space.
Meanwhile, the Atrium’s own tiered water feature made the perfect backdrop for the space flooded with natural daylight.
Pegasus, the landmark Spa within the Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel is a world away from the hustle and bustle of airport travel. Whether you’ve just returned from a long flight and need to unwind, or you’re simply having a weekend away in the capital the Pegasus Spa offers highly qualified therapists who can work away all of those aches and pains.
Massages at the spa are tailored to your every need. Focussing on key stress areas, you start your treatment by completing a simple form and then your therapist will discuss everything with you in detail. To begin with, the essential oils which have been carefully chosen for you are used to put your mind and body at ease.
For our full body massage, it started from the shoulders and back, neck then followed by legs, feet, arms and hands. Chest and face follow. The pressure was all to taste so if you want deep tissue massage all you need to do is ask. For a more gentle massage our massage was adapted based on our exact requirements. Our therapist Simona had years of experience, and was highly qualified in both massage therapy and aromatherapy and truly understood the art of relaxation. Simona’s energy was also very uplifting and calm which helps to unwind her clients.
